Adenium’s Story

Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Elena Stachew founded Adenium Consulting in late 2024. Following the sudden passing of her business partner, Kwame Botchway, Elena desired to carry forward the mission begun with Kwame at Citadel Impact Consulting. Adenium blends strategy, research, and on-the-ground experience to help mission-driven organizations execute on their good ideas and create real impact. We bring a diverse array of backgrounds from philanthropy, community health, climate and sustainability, to education - paired with a deep commitment to racial, social, and environmental justice.

The firm operates through a collaborative of experts model. We work within a curated network of subcontracted specialists with multidisciplinary backgrounds, bringing the right expertise to each engagement rather than a fixed staff roster. Below you’ll see Adenium’s small, full-time core team, followed by our collaborative of experts and partner consultants.

Our collaborative of experts represent our consultants that have full-time jobs, businesses, or otherwise prior commitments. They work with us regularly on a part-time, on-call, or project-by-project basis. Often, our experts sub-contract with Adenium Consulting to create one seamless team and one firm that invoices and bills the client.

Our partner consultants are very established within their own firms and areas of focus. Adenium often partners with these consultants on larger projects: sometimes with the partner firm leading the contract, while other times Adenium leads the contract.

Adenium often passes along work to our partners when we don’t think it is the best fit, or we see Adenium having a smaller, focused support role.
